 Boots that are well travelled

A pair of boots arrived in the mail. Sent from the other side of the world to be repaired by Albury's Mr. Anthony Metry.
The R.M.Williams bushman's boots arrived from Munich Germany, with a desperate letter from Mr Anthony Healey asking Anthony's Shoe Repairs to come to the rescue.
Mr Healey said in his letter he had decided to take the extravagent action of sending his boots on a trip round the world for repairs.
He said he had heard of poeple flying Ferraris from Australia to the factory in Italy for rebuilds. "What I thought would be a simple enough to fix turned into a minor nightmare". So he turned to Albury for a solution. Mr Metry said it was a surprise to receive the boots. He said he has had boots in the past from Tokyo and Britain but he had known the customers. "Mr Healey read about our business in The Outback Magazine and decided to send them to us," Mr Metry said. "The elastic has worn out and we will be able to fix that as well as replacing the sole.
"We will send them back to Germany as good as new. There is an art to repairing boots as you don't want to change the fitting or the size as the R.M.Williams boots mould to your feet. I was taught to repair shoes by my uncle who also taught my father and has been repairing shoes since 1955.
